How do I teach my teenager to stand firm in his faith at school?

My 14yo came home upset because some kids were making fun of him for going to church and being a Christian. He's a good kid and I don't want him to become ashamed of his faith just to fit in. I want to help him understand that walking with Christ sometimes means being different and that's okay, but I also remember being a teenager and how brutal peer pressure can be. How do I encourage him without being preachy? How did you guys navigate this with your kids?

That's tough for a 14 year old to deal with. I try to remind my kids that standing up for what they believe in is actually a sign of strength, not weakness. He sounds like a solid kid with a good dad backing him up.
