How do you handle secular pressure on your kids?
My 10 year old came home wanting to watch shows and play games all his friends are watching and playing. Some of it is pretty worldly and doesn't align with our values. I want to protect him but I also don't want him to feel like an outcast at school. My wife thinks I'm being too strict. How do you guys navigate this balance between protection and letting them live in the real world?
The peer pressure stuff is brutal. My kids dealt with the same thing at that age. We ended up compromising on some shows but held firm on others. Explained it as a family decision, not a punishment.
