My grandpa passed away last month and my kids are asking a lot of questions about heaven and what happens after we die. I want to give them hope and faith without making it seem scary or fake. My 6yo keeps asking if grandpa can see us and my 11yo is more questioning things like how we know heaven is real. I don't always have the right words. How have you guys handled these conversations?
This is tough stuff. We've found that being honest but simple works best - talking about good memories and how people we love stay in our hearts. Your kids are lucky to have a dad thinking this through so carefully.

My daughter asked me this last year and honestly just sitting with her and answering without all the flowery stuff seemed to help most. Let them ask the hard questions. It's okay if you don't have all the answers either.
