How do you teach kids about serving others?
Want to raise my boys with a real heart for service and not just teach it in theory. We did a food pantry volunteer day once but it was kind of awkward and my kids didn't really get it. Looking for ideas on how to make serving others actually meaningful for them at their ages (9 and 12). Should we do church stuff or is there other ways to show them what it looks like to live out their faith in practical ways?
The food pantry day sounds like a solid start even if it felt off. Sometimes you gotta find what clicks with your specific boys. Maybe they'd rather build something for someone or rake an elderly neighbor's yard?
