My son asked me if I ever struggle with sin. Good question right? I want to be honest and show him that following Jesus is real and hard not fake and easy. But I also don't want to give him a blueprint for how to do the wrong things. Where's the line? How vulnerable do you guys get with your kids?
This is something I've been wrestling with too. There's a balance between being real and being the spiritual leader they need. I've found that being honest about the struggle while showing them you're working through it spiritually hits that balance pretty well.
I think honesty about your own struggles is huge. My kids respect me way more since I told them I battle with anger and have to work on it every single day. They see me actually trying to be better instead of pretending I'm perfect.
Just make sure you're showing him how you deal with it, not just listing your failures. Like talk about what you do when you mess up. That's the real lesson I think.

The question about sin is actually a great sign he's thinking about faith at all. I've been pretty open with mine about my mistakes and my wife said it made them less afraid to come to us with their own stuff.
