How to pray with your kids when you're not great at it
I want to lead my family in prayer but honestly I feel like I don't know what I'm doing. I grew up in church but fell away for a long time. Now that I have kids I want them to know Jesus but I don't want to look like a hypocrite or say something wrong. Any advice from guys who've been in this position? Do I need to be perfect at this or can I just be honest and genuine?
The fact that you want to lead your family in prayer already puts you ahead of the game. Don't overthink it. Just be authentic. Kids can tell when you're being fake. Start with something simple like gratitude before meals and build from there.
Have you tried looking up some dad-focused prayer resources online? There's actually a bunch of stuff designed for guys who didn't grow up with strong faith examples. Your kids will respect you more for being honest about not having all the answers.
