Leading by example - my kids called me out for hypocrisy
Lost my temper at another driver yesterday, said some things I shouldn't have said. My 7 year old heard me and asked why I was being mean when I always tell him to be kind. Man that hurt. I apologized to him right there. Realized I need to actually walk the walk, not just talk about it. How do you all balance being human and flawed while trying to model Christ for your kids?
Road rage is my weakness too. I started using it as a teaching moment with my kids when they see me lose it. Like 'see how I just got mad? That wasn't cool, and here's why I'm taking a breath now.' Kids respect honesty more than perfection.
