Leading by example when you're struggling
Real talk, I haven't been living out my faith the way I should and my kids are starting to notice. I'm asking them to be honest and kind but I'm not always doing it myself. I snapped at my wife yesterday over something stupid, kids saw it. I apologized to them and to her but I'm realizing I need to actually work on this stuff before I can expect them to have strong faith. Where do I even start? Been praying about it but feel like I'm failing them.
Real talk right back - acknowledging it is honestly the first step and probably worth more than you think. I've had to do that too and when I was honest with my kids about struggling to live what I believe, it actually made me more real to them, not less. That's actually a powerful example.
I think every parent who actually cares about this stuff feels exactly what you're describing. The fact that you're noticing and wanting to do better is the whole battle right there. What's one thing you're trying to work on first?
