My 6 year old led our family in prayer tonight

And honestly it was the most beautiful thing I've experienced as a dad. He just prayed with such pure faith and simplicity. Asked Jesus to help his little sister with her fears, thanked God for our dog, asked Him to help daddy be patient. My wife and I were both tearing up. These moments remind me why we're doing all this. Faith really is caught more than taught sometimes.

Were you able to record it or write down what he said? I wish I'd done that with my oldest because honestly the details fade fast.

This is beautiful man. Those moments stick with you forever. My 5yo did something similar last week and I actually teared up a bit. The purity in how kids pray is just different.

Leading prayer at that age takes real courage. You're clearly doing something right with how you're raising him spiritually.

The way kids just speak from the heart without overthinking it is what faith should be about. He probably felt your presence and that made him comfortable enough to do it.
