My daughter asked me a hard question about why God lets bad things happen
She's 9 and one of her friends' parents are getting divorced. She asked why God doesn't just fix it if he loves us. I tried to explain free will and trust but I could tell she wasn't really satisfied. I ended up just holding her and praying with her. Anyone else dealt with this? How did you help them understand?
This is exactly the kind of stuff I'm dreading as my little one gets older. Props for actually engaging with the question instead of dodging it. Sounds like she's got a dad who takes her seriously, which honestly might matter more than having all the right answers.
