My daughter asked why I don't forgive easily

Had this moment last week where my 9yo watched me get angry at a coworker who messed up, and later she asked 'Dad, don't we forgive people like Jesus said?' Absolutely broke me. I realized I'm preaching grace but modeling bitterness. Anyone else had that wake up call where your kid calls out your hypocrisy? I've been working on actually living what I claim to believe instead of just saying it.

This is real talk right here. I've been there where my frustration comes out and then I have to backtrack with the kids. The fact that you're even thinking about this means you're already working on it.

Man, that hits hard. My kids have called me out on stuff like that too, and it stings but it's the wake-up call we need. Sounds like your daughter just gave you a gift, even if it didn't feel like it in the moment.
