My kids asked if God is real and I froze
Both boys at dinner, ages 6 and 9. Just out of nowhere my oldest asks why we believe in God if we can't see him. My younger one chimes in with questions. I stammered through something about faith and the Bible but honestly I could tell I didn't really answer them. I want to raise them in the faith but I realized I haven't actually thought through these tough questions myself in a real way. Now I'm like, what kind of spiritual leader am I if I can't even explain what I believe to my own kids? I think I need to get back into studying scripture instead of just going through the motions at church on Sunday.
This is exactly why I want to build faith in my kids but man it's hard when you're exhausted and they ask stuff like this. No good answer comes to mind when you're tired. Curious how you ended up responding to them?
