My oldest asked about why some kids don't have dads at home

My 9 year old came home from school asking why his friend's parents are divorced and why the kid only sees his dad on weekends. I tried to give him a real answer about how people make mistakes and that God still loves everyone, but man it was heavy. My wife and I have been blessed with a good marriage and I don't want to take that for granted. Moments like this remind me I need to be praying for guys in tough situations and modeling what a committed husband and father should look like for my kids.
