My teenager asked me hard questions about why bad things happen

My 14 year old came to me with some really heavy stuff about suffering and faith. He asked why God lets innocent people suffer if he's all powerful. I tried to explain it but I could tell he wasn't satisfied with my answers. I told him I don't have all the answers either and that faith sometimes means living with questions. We talked for like two hours. I'm hoping I showed him that wrestling with your faith is okay, that you don't have to pretend to have it all figured out. Anyone else dealing with teenagers who are challenging their faith?
