My teenager doesn't believe anymore and I'm terrified

He's 14 and just told us he doesn't think God is real. I immediately got defensive and quoted Scripture but that made it worse. My first instinct was anger but I felt the Holy Spirit telling me to just listen. Now I'm sitting with this fear that I failed him somehow. Part of me wonders if I was too strict about church or didn't model genuine faith well enough. How do I show him Jesus's love while staying true to what I believe?
