My teenager is questioning everything about our faith and it's scaring me

My 14 year old daughter came home from a friend's house last week saying she doesn't know if she believes in God anymore. She's asking all these questions about why suffering exists and whether the Bible is even reliable. Part of me wants to shut it down but I know that's not going to help. How do I guide her through doubt without pushing her away from faith completely? I'm praying about it but would appreciate some real advice from other dads who've been here.

This is normal and actually healthy honestly. At 14 she's supposed to question things and figure out what she believes. Just keep the door open for conversations and show her you love her regardless.

My twins are still tiny but I've already thought about this phase coming. I think the key is staying connected to her even when you disagree. She needs to know you love her no matter where her beliefs land.

It's scary when they start questioning, but this is actually healthy. Questions mean she's thinking for herself. Keep listening to her without getting defensive and let her know your faith journey is okay to discuss.
