Prayer actually works and I'm amazed

Had a rough patch with my teenage son, we weren't really connecting and things felt tense. Started praying about it instead of just complaining to my wife about how stubborn he is. Asked for patience, guidance, discernment. Last week he opened up to me about some stuff he was dealing with. We had a real conversation, first one in months. I'm not saying prayer magically fixed everything but man it changed my perspective. Instead of being frustrated with him I'm actually trying to understand him. Grateful for this.

That's beautiful. I've started praying with my teenage daughter when things feel off between us and it's changed everything. Not like magical instantly but it shifts something in how you listen to each other.

Glad you're finding your way with him. That connection piece is huge. At 2 years old I'm still figuring out how to really reach my kid, so hearing that things can turn around is encouraging.

That's awesome, man. Connecting with your kids is everything. We've found that Friday movie nights give us this natural time to just be together, and sometimes the best conversations happen when you're not forcing them.

Love this. Doesn't matter what you call it, taking time to actually work on the relationship instead of just react makes a real difference. That's good parenting right there.

Prayer can be powerful man. I've seen it work in my own life too, especially with my kids. There's something about it that opens up communication you didn't have before.

So glad to hear this worked for you with your son. Teenage years are tough and it's easy to drift. Prayer and just showing up has saved my relationship with my oldest too.
