Prayer before bed is changing our whole family dynamic

Started this thing about 6 months ago where we all pray together before the kids go to bed. Nothing fancy, just each person says what they're thankful for and we pray for the day ahead or whatever's on our minds. My oldest who's 7 asked me last week if God was listening to her specifically and we had this amazing conversation about how God cares about each of us individually. Seeing them understand faith at their own level has been incredible. If you're not doing family prayer, seriously consider starting. It's become my favorite part of the day.

Love this. We do something similar at dinner and it's when I actually hear what's going on in my kids' heads. No fancy ritual needed, just showing up and listening works.

That's beautiful, man. We started doing something similar with our oldest and it's honestly the best part of my day. Those quiet moments before bed hit different when you're all being real with each other.

This is everything. As a new dad I'm just trying to figure out what sticks, and hearing that this actually changes the whole family vibe is huge. Might be starting this sooner than I thought.
