Praying for my son's future but worried I'm doing it wrong

Been praying a lot lately for my oldest as he's getting ready for high school and I want to make sure he stays strong in his faith. I pray that God guides his friendships, keeps him away from bad influences, helps him stand firm on his beliefs. But sometimes I wonder if I'm being too controlling or not letting God work. How do you guys balance interceding for your kids in prayer with trusting God's plan for them? I don't want to be that overprotective parent but I also want to be intentional about praying for their spiritual lives.

There's no wrong way to pray for your kid. I mean, the fact that you're thinking about this and being intentional about it already puts you ahead of most people. High school is a big transition. Just keep showing him what faith looks like in action and trust that he'll figure out his own path.

Man, I felt this in my soul. I've been doing a lot of praying too as my oldest gets closer to high school. I think the key is praying with intention but then letting go of the outcome, you know? You can't control everything that happens to him, but you can control showing up for him and being present. That matters more than any prayer.
