Praying with my kids actually changed something
So I started praying with my kids before bed about a month ago after feeling like I wasn't really living my faith in front of them, just talking about it. My 7yo asked me why we pray if God already knows what we need and honestly I didn't have a great answer ready. But we talked through it and I realized I was being lazy about my own walk. Now my kids are asking to pray about stuff throughout the day. My 5yo prayed about being scared of the dark instead of just crying about it. That hit different. Feels like we're actually building something real here instead of just going through motions.
Something about that consistency and togetherness really does work. Even on the nights where I'm split between two homes, I make sure we have that time. It's become the anchor for all of us.
