Raising godly kids in a world that doesn't care
My son is in middle school and he's starting to see what's popular at school versus what we're teaching him at home. He wants to fit in and I get it, but I'm trying to help him understand that following Jesus sometimes means standing out. We had a long talk about it and I told him my own story of times I tried to fit in and regretted it. Not being preachy, just being real. How do other dads help their kids navigate this stuff? They need friends but they also need to stay true to their values.
The world's always going to pull in different directions but kids are sharper than we think. They see the difference between real conviction and just rules. Keep living it out and trust that he's learning more than you realize right now.
