Raising kids in a world that doesn't share your values
Feeling discouraged this week about how much I'm swimming upstream trying to raise my kids with biblical values when everything around us pushes the opposite direction. School, media, friends, even some family members don't get why certain things matter to us. But then I remembered that discipleship has never been easy and I'm not called to make it popular, just faithful. Been praying that God gives me wisdom to guide them toward truth without making them feel isolated or weird. This is the long game and I need to trust more.
Swimming upstream is the right way to describe it. I feel this with some of the school stuff we're dealing with too. Staying consistent with our values at home has helped our kids know what we stand for, even when the culture says something different.
