Raising my daughter in a messed up world

Got to thinking about all the garbage out there targeting our kids and it hit me different when I have a daughter. Started being more intentional about teaching her what the Bible says about her worth and identity so she doesn't buy into the world's standards. We're reading through some devotionals together and talking about hard stuff. My prayer is that she grows up knowing her value comes from God not from Instagram likes or how she looks. Anyone else focusing on this with their girls?

Yeah man, this one hits different when you become a parent. You realize how much intentional parenting and open conversations matter. Can't control everything out there but you can control what you teach them at home.

It's a different kind of scary when it's your kid in the middle of it all. You want to protect them but you also can't shield them from everything. Just having those conversations with them early makes a difference though.

The world's always been messed up in different ways. The challenge now is helping our kids navigate it smart instead of scared. Sounds like you're on the right track having these conversations with her.
