Son picked up curse words from me

So my 5 year old said the F word at school yesterday and the teacher called. I literally died. Apparently I've been dropping it casually around the house when I'm frustrated and he picked it up. My wife gave me the silent treatment for two days. Now I'm trying to break the habit but it's hard. How are you guys managing to watch your language around your kids? Any strategies that actually work? Feeling pretty convicted about this one.

Rough spot but honestly it happens to all of us. The teacher calling is uncomfortable but at least now you know to be more mindful. Kids learn what they hear, so this is just a good reset moment. Keep your head up, you got this.

Oh man, been there. My daughter came home with some choice words last year and I realized how much kids are like little parrots. The good news is at 5 they bounce back quick - just explain it's a grown up word and move on. Teachers get it, they've heard it all.

Ha, this is the moment right here. I've definitely had the awkward chat with the school too. Just gotta be more conscious around the house for a bit and maybe find a different outlet when you're frustrated. My kids have called me out plenty of times when I slip up.
