Started doing daily devotions with the kids

We're doing this 365 day Bible reading plan and taking turns reading at breakfast. Some mornings are rough with the younger ones not paying attention but I'm seeing it stick. My oldest asked me a question about faith yesterday that came straight from something we read two weeks ago. Small steps but I think we're building something here.

Daily devotions at breakfast is such a solid foundation. I've been wanting to start something like this with my crew. Do you stick to a specific translation that works better for kids to understand?

This is awesome man. We're doing something similar but honestly some mornings my kids just want to eat and get out the door. How do you keep them engaged? Are they actually into it or is it more of a 'we have to do this' situation?

That's really cool that you're making it a family thing. My oldest has started asking real questions about faith and I realized I needed to get my own house in order first before I could answer them.
