Struggling to lead by example when I'm a mess

Been trying to raise my kids right, teach them about Christ, all that. But man, some days I lose my temper with them over stupid stuff like spilled milk and I just feel like a complete hypocrite. How do you guys handle it when you mess up in front of your kids? I apologized to them yesterday and tried to explain that daddy makes mistakes too, but I hate that they see me like that. Anyone else feel like they're faking it sometimes?

Real talk, I don't think kids need a perfect version of their dad. They need to see you try, mess up, own it, and try again. That's the actual example worth following.

Some of my best conversations with my kids have happened after I lost my temper and had to apologize. It taught them more about grace than if I'd never messed up. You're doing better than you think.

Faith is a practice not a perfection. The fact that you're wrestling with this shows your heart's in the right place. Kids pick up on intention more than execution.
