Struggling to lead by example when I'm failing

Guys I need to be real here. I'm trying to teach my kids about honesty and integrity but this week I called in sick to work when I just wanted a mental health day. My 8 year old caught me in the lie and asked why it was okay for me to lie but not him. Hit me like a ton of bricks. How do you guys handle this? I want to model Christ but I'm just a regular flawed dude trying to get through the day.

Man, the fact that you're even aware of it and feeling convicted shows you're already doing better than you think. My kid is still too young to call me out, but I know that day's coming for me too.
