Struggling to lead prayer time at home

I want to do more to lead spiritually in my family but honestly family prayer time feels awkward sometimes. My kids are young (4 and 7) and they get wiggly and goofy. How do you guys make it feel natural without forcing it? I know I need to model what a prayer life looks like but I'm not sure I'm doing it right.

I get this. There's a weird pressure to be the spiritual leader but it can feel forced, especially when you're not sure what you're doing. Have you thought about making it less formal? Like just talking about it naturally instead of structured prayer time?

What age are your kids? Sometimes that makes a difference in how you approach it. Younger kids might respond better to shorter, simpler conversations about faith rather than formal prayer time.

The awkwardness is real. I tried starting family prayer and felt like I was reading from a script at first. It got better once I stopped trying to sound a certain way and just talked like myself.
