Struggling to model patience when my kids push my buttons

Hey guys, I'm really trying to live out what I preach about patience and grace but man, it's hard. My 7yo deliberately disobeyed me today and I could feel my blood boiling. I took a breath, prayed for like 2 seconds, and somehow managed to discipline him without yelling. Later he asked why I wasn't as angry as usual and I explained that God helps me be better. He seemed to really hear it. I know I'm not perfect at this but moments like that make me think maybe the kids are actually watching how I handle stress. Anyone else struggle with being the example you want your kids to follow?
