Struggling with pride in fatherhood

Been really wrestling with this lately. My kids are doing well in school, we've got a nice house, good jobs, and I catch myself getting proud about how we're 'doing it right' as a Christian family. Then I remember that's literally the sin that separates us from God the most. How do you balance being grateful for God's blessings without letting pride creep in? I don't want to raise arrogant kids who think they earned their success.

Sounds like you're doing a lot of things right, which is awesome. Just remember it's a team effort and there's grace in that. Keep your eyes on raising good humans, not just successful ones.

That's real and worth wrestling with. Pride sneaks up when things are going well. The fact that you're checking yourself on it means you're already in the right place.
