Teaching kids about Jesus without being preachy
My 6 year old asked why we pray before meals and I realized I just tell him we do because God wants us to but I'm not really explaining the why. I want him to love Jesus not just follow rules because dad said so. Been trying to share my faith more naturally through conversations and how I treat people instead of always being the stern parent. How do you guys have spiritual conversations with your kids that actually stick without forcing it?
I get every other weekend with my kids and I've learned you don't need a sermon, just let them see you actually living it. During our board games I'll mention why I'm grateful or why I think something matters. Kids pick up on authenticity way faster than logic.
