Teaching kids about money and generosity
Trying to raise kids who aren't just focused on getting more stuff. We started giving them an allowance that they actually have to work for, and we're trying to teach them to give a portion away. Been taking them to volunteer at the food bank once a month. Anyone else doing this? What's worked for you?
Love this approach. My kids fought the chore-for-allowance system at first, but once they realized they had to earn it, something just clicked. Now they actually think twice before blowing it all on junk.
