Teaching my boys to live their faith not just talk about it

My oldest came home from school upset because his friends were making fun of him for not going to the party on Saturday. I told him that being a Christian means sometimes people won't understand your choices and that's okay. We talked about standing firm in what we believe even when it's not easy. Later I caught him volunteering to help his little brother with homework without being asked. Those are the moments I know he's actually listening and learning what it means to walk the walk, not just say the words.

Actions definitely speak louder here. Kids can tell when faith is real versus performative. Maybe focusing less on rules and more on showing him why your faith actually matters to you in daily life?

That's tough, especially at an age where peer pressure is brutal. My kids are younger but I'm already worried about these moments. How did your oldest handle it? And what's your plan for helping him stay grounded in what he believes?

This is the real parenting challenge right here. He's old enough to think for himself but young enough to still need your support. Keep letting him ask questions and doubt. That's how faith actually becomes his, not just yours.

Rough situation. Remind him that being different isn't weakness. Some of my best moments as a dad have been helping my kids stand by their beliefs even when it's unpopular.
