Teaching my kids about giving when we don't have much

We've had some financial stress this year but we committed as a family to put something in the missions offering at church even if it's just a few dollars. Last Sunday my 9 year old asked if we could give more from his allowance. I got emotional man. That's the Holy Spirit working in a kid's heart right there. Blessed to be raising children who are learning generosity young.

Teaching generosity when you're struggling is powerful. Shows your kids that values come before circumstances. Good on you for that.

This is so important for kids to see. We're doing something similar and even though money is tight it feels good to show them that giving doesn't depend on having it all. They're learning what actually matters.

That's the kind of lesson that sticks with them forever. My parents did similar and I still remember how it made me feel. Your kids will too.
