Teaching my kids to give even when it's hard
We're not wealthy by any means. Pretty middle class honestly. But I want my boys to understand generosity and faith in Gods provision. So when the youth group needed money for a mission trip to Mexico, instead of just writing a check I had them do chores to earn it. They each gave $50 that they worked for. My youngest asked me why we can't just use our savings. I told him that when we give what we worked for it means something different. It's a real sacrifice. That's when faith gets real. Hoping this plants seeds that grow into men who trust God with their money.
This right here. I'm working hard to teach my kids that giving doesn't have to wait until you're rich. We donate what we can and volunteer as a family. They're starting to get it.
