Teaching my kids to pray before they ask for stuff
Been working with my kids lately to pray before jumping straight to asking me for things. My 5yo wanted a new toy and I told him to pray about it first and think about whether he really needs it. He prayed and then said 'Dad I think I can wait.' I was blown away. Trying to show them that God cares about what matters to them and that prayer isn't just for bedtime. It's a small thing but I'm seeing them think differently about their wants.
That's good parenting right there. Teaching delayed gratification and reflection at that age is huge. I bet he'll remember this approach way more than any toy you could have bought him.
