Teaching my kids to pray without making it feel forced

So I've been struggling with this for a while. I want my kids to have a real prayer life, not just the robotic bedtime prayers we all grew up with. Started having them pray about stuff they actually care about - their soccer games, friends at school, worries about grandpa's health. Now my 7yo asks ME if we can pray about things without me prompting him. I think I finally get what the pastors mean about leading by example. You can't fake genuine faith with your kids. They see right through it.
