Teaching my kids to pray without making it feel forced
Been really praying about how to help my kids develop their own relationship with God instead of just going through the motions at dinner. Last week I asked them what they were genuinely worried about and we prayed together about real stuff. My 7 year old actually prayed without me prompting him which caught me off guard. Felt like a real moment. Anyone have tips for keeping faith alive and authentic in your household?
Man, this is tough. I've been trying to model it more than preach it. Like just being genuine about my own faith journey and letting them see that it's not perfect or forced. Still figuring it out though.
Have you tried just having regular conversations about it? My family started talking about faith stuff during car rides or while doing dishes, totally casual. Seemed to work better than sitting down for 'the talk.'
