Teaching my kids to serve others instead of just getting stuff
We've started a tradition where once a month we pick a neighbor or family member to help. Last month my boys and I raked leaves for an elderly lady from church. This month we're planning to make meals for a family with a newborn. My kids are actually excited about it and keep asking when we can go help again. I want them to grow up understanding that faith is about loving people and serving them, not just showing up on Sundays. It's been the best parenting decision I've made this year.
Love this. My boys have started asking to help the neighbors without me even asking now, and it's wild to see that shift happen. You're planting something really good there.
