Teaching my son about integrity - real world lesson
So my 10 year old found $20 in the parking lot at the grocery store and wanted to keep it. Perfect teaching moment. We went back inside and he turned it in to customer service. The manager said they'd try to find the owner but he probably wouldn't get it back. My kid was sad but he did the right thing. I took him for ice cream after to celebrate his character. These moments are what it's all about. He learned more about doing the right thing when nobody's watching than I could teach him in a month of lectures. Really proud of him and grateful for the chance to show him that walking the walk matters more than talking about it.
Perfect teachable moment right there. The kid learning it in real time instead of just hearing about it makes all the difference. Did you guys go turn it in together or did you let him take the lead?
