Using yard work as family time and teaching moments

Been raking leaves in the yard with my boys this weekend and realized this is actually prime time for conversations. No phones, no distractions, just working together and talking. Got to share some stories about how their grandpa taught me the value of hard work and doing things right. We prayed before dinner thanking God for the day and their help, and my 7 year old actually got it. It's these simple moments where faith and family connect that matter most. Not everything has to be formal.

This right here. Yard work was my main thing with my boys growing up. Teaching them to rake properly, explaining why we need to clear the leaves before winter hits - that's real parenting happening.
How old are your boys? I'm trying to figure out when my son is old enough to actually help rather than just getting in the way.
