Walking the walk is harder than I thought

Been a Christian my whole life but becoming a dad has shown me how much I was just talking the talk. My kids watch everything I do and say. Last week my daughter asked why I was upset about something I said was 'not a big deal' and it hit me that she's calling out my hypocrisy at 6 years old. I'm trying to be more intentional about living out my faith in front of them. It's humbling and necessary.

This is real. You can read all the parenting books and go to church every Sunday but then you yell at your kid and realize you haven't actually integrated any of it. Parenting is the ultimate spiritual mirror.

Being a parent will definitely show you where you actually stand versus where you thought you stood. It's tough but also kind of the whole point right? Keep pushing, that awareness is already growth.

The gap between what we believe and what we actually live out is massive. I've had to be way more honest with my kids about my failures than I ever was as a parent before. That's probably better teaching anyway.
