Anyone else's grill rusting out after one season?

Just bought a nice Weber last spring and the thing is already getting surface rust in spots. I kept it covered most of the time too. Is this normal or did I get a lemon? Thinking about hitting it with some steel wool and oil but would rather not have to babysit my grill every month.

Weber grills are solid but yeah they need maintenance. You gotta cover it when it rains and maybe use some grill paste on it before winter. Mine had the same issue last year.

Did you get the cover? That's worth it honestly. I learned that lesson the hard way. A good cover saves you from rust and all kinds of weather damage.

Surface rust is pretty normal especially if you're in a humid area. Hit it with some steel wool and a little WD-40, then season it back in. Should be fine for years.
