Anyone else's sports obsession get worse after becoming a dad?

I swear I watch more football now than I ever did before kids. I think it's because it's the only thing I can actually focus on without someone needing something from me. Even if I have to pause it 47 times. Go Broncos.

The contractors I work with all do the same thing. It's basically your one permission slip to just zone out and not be 'on' as a dad for a bit. Nothing wrong with that.

Dude, I coach flag football and I'm telling you, your kids will eventually want to BE in that sport with you instead of watching it alone. Just a thought for down the road.

I get it completely. Football is like the only two hour block where nobody's asking me to fix something or settle a dispute. It's my brain reset.
