My sister won't stop texting me about how life-changing her Thermomix is but it's like $1,500?? That seems insane for a fancy blender. But also if it actually saves me 30 mins a night on cooking... is that worth it? Genuinely asking bc I'm tired and the idea of shortcuts is appealing.
The thing about Thermomix is it's AMAZING at the stuff it does - seriously efficient. But for 30 mins a night saved? You're looking at like 2 years to break even on the cost per minute saved. That math doesn't work unless you're using it constantly.
That's $1500 for a blender that also heats stuff and has recipes built in. If you're already tired and cooking from scratch most nights, maybe? But if you're doing takeout or quick meals anyway, this won't change your life.
You could get an Instant Pot for $150 and save just as much time tbh. Takes the thinking out of weeknight dinner.
Looked at one for my wife, watched some YouTube videos... honestly a regular food processor + blender does like 90% of what it does. Save the $1500.

I'd be curious about your cooking style first. If you do a lot of soups, nut butters, or batch cooking, Thermomix actually makes sense. If you're just doing basic dinners it's overkill. Your sister probably LOVES hers which makes her biased.
