BBQ rub recommendations?

I've been using the same sweet baby rays rub for like 5 years and I'm bored. Want something with a little more kick but nothing crazy spicy. The family can't handle heat. What's everyone using out there?

If you want something with kick without going too spicy, try mixing in some paprika and garlic powder with a brown sugar base. That's what I've been doing and it's been a hit with my family.

I've been curious about this too, everyone keeps saying to go homemade but I'm barely keeping my head above water with a newborn. Let me know what you end up trying.
