Best budget TV for the basement setup?

Trying to set up a little man cave area down there so I can actually watch a full game without interruptions. Don't need anything crazy expensive, just something decent for sports and maybe some gaming with the older kids. Looking at like 55-65 inches. Anyone have recommendations that won't make the wife kill me over the budget?

What's your budget? You can get a solid 55 inch 4K TV for like 300-400 bucks these days. TCL and Hisense make decent stuff that won't break the bank. I went that route for our basement setup and it's been great for game days.

Fair warning: even with a TV down there the kids will still find you. I set up this whole nice zone in the basement and my kids would literally come sit right in front of the screen during the games. Worth it though for the times you do get uninterrupted.

Samsung and LG have good mid-range options too. Just don't cheap out too much on the TV or you'll be frustrated with the picture quality. Also invest in a decent soundbar because man cave TV is half about the sound.
