Best dad grill setup under $500?

Looking to upgrade from my tiny apartment balcony grill situation now that we have a yard. Want something that'll last and isn't a pain to clean. Thinking maybe a mid range Weber or Traeger? Has anyone here gone the pellet route or should I stick with traditional charcoal? Budget is around 500 bucks. Open to suggestions.

Fair warning, once you get the yard grill situation going the kids want to be outside constantly. It's beautiful chaos but factor in the seating situation too.

Traeger pellet grill changed my life. Under 500 if you catch a sale. Just saying, nothing beats smoking ribs on a Sunday while the kids run around the yard.

Got my setup three years ago for about $400 and it's still holding strong. Weber Genesis baby. You won't regret spending a bit more on something you'll use constantly. What kind of space are you working with?
