Best hiking trails near here for families?

Been trying to get outside more on weekends instead of just being glued to screens. My kids are 4, 6, and 9 so looking for something not too intense but actually interesting. We did that one trail by the state park last month and the kids actually complained less about walking. Anyone have recommendations? We're in the midwest if that matters.

Getting outside is definitely better than screens. At 4 and 6 keep it short though. Like really short. A mile feels like a marathon to them but they remember it forever.

Depends on where you are but if you're anywhere near decent parks, start with easier stuff. My kids are 5 and 8 and they love anything under 3 miles with water somewhere on the trail.

Local state parks are your friend for this. Nothing too intense. We found our kids will walk forever if there's something to look for like rocks or bugs. Build in stops.
