We're trying to find a decent pizza spot that's not just chain restaurants. Somewhere we can actually sit down and eat without worrying too much about the kids making a mess. Anyone have recommendations? We're willing to drive a bit. Bonus points if they have good beer.
This is such a vibe. We did a local pizza tour one weekend and hit up three different spots. It turned into a whole thing with the boys rating them. They still talk about it.
Look for a place that lets you watch them toss the dough. My kids were way more interested in eating pizza when they could see it being made. Also keeps them entertained while you wait.
If you're in the Denver area, Steuben's has an amazing wood-fired pizza setup and the kids actually want to eat there. Not fancy but legitimately great pizza and a vibe that works for families.
We just moved to Charlotte and have been looking for the same thing. The chains are convenient but they're all the same everywhere. Let me know if you find a good spot, I'll check it out.
My kids are pizza snobs now after I took them to a real pizzeria once. Now they complain about chain pizza. Good luck finding something legit.
